October 19, 1839. Thomas Thorn and Nancy W. Thorn, his wife, to Thorn and Frame. Warranty Deed. Consideration $196.00. Recorded March 29, 1841. Deed Record "E", Page 24. Conveys: The following described real estate situate in the County of Wabash, State of Indiana, to-wit: Lot #24 on the recorded Town Plat of Manchester.

March 7, 1846. Mahlon C. Frame and Feraby Frame, his wife, to William Thorn. Warranty Deed. Consideration $175.00. Recorded April 14, 1846. Deed Record "R", Page 139. Conveys: The following described real estate situate in the County of Wabash, State of Indiana, to-wit: The undivided one-half of Lot #24 known and described as such on the recorded Town Plat of Manchester, and as belonging to M.C. Frame and Wm. Thorn.

February 18, 1852. Wm. Thorn and Elizabeth Thorn, his wife, to John and Abraham Shallenberger. Warranty Deed. Consideration $2,000.00. Recorded February 21, 1852. Deed Record "N", Page 58. Conveys: The following described real estate situate in the County of Wabash, State of Indiana, to-wit: Lots #24 and #25 in the recorded Town Plat of Manchester.

June 14, 1854. Abraham Shallenbarger and Rebecca Shallenbarger, his wife, to John Shallenbarger. Warranty Deed. Consideration $2500.00. Recorded January 11, 1855. Deed Record "Q", Page 98. Conveys: The following described real estate situate in the County of Wabash, State of Indiana, to-wit: The undivided one-half of Lots #24, 25, 9, 10, 11, 12, 61, 62 and 63 as shown on the recorded Town Plat of Manchester.

Note: Plat of John Shallenberger's Subdivision of Inlots #24, #25 and #26 in the Original Plat of Manchester (now North Manchester). #24 is divided into 7 lots and an alley 10 feet wide. #25 is divided into 8 lots numbered from North to South. #26 is the original size except 8 feet wide off the West side. Said lots so divided are in the Northeast quarter of Section #5, in Township #29 North of Range #7 East. [Pages 291 and 292 of Volume "2" of the Plat Books in the Office of Recorder of Wabash County, Indiana. This description and plat were subsequently transcribed into (New) Plat Book #2, Pages 292 & 293.

November 28, 1870. John Shellenberger and Eleanor M. Shellenberger, his wife, to John F. Kinney. Warranty Deed. Consideration $600.00. Recorded March 3, 1874. Deed Record #18, Page 118. Conveys: Part of In Lot #24, in the Original Plat of the Town of Manchester, bounded as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the South West corner of In Lot #24 and running East 14 feet; thence North parallel to the West line of said lot, 100 feet, thence West parallel to the south line of the lot 14 feet; thence South on the West line of said lot 100 feet to the place of beginning, making 14 by 100 feet out of the South West part of said lot above described, in Wabash County, Indiana. and the grantors further bind themselves to keep open an alley 10 feet wide across said In Lot #24, at the North East corner of said tract, above conveyed.

August 16, 1875. John F. Kinney and Lucinda M. Kinney, his wife, to Nancy J. Ridgley. Warranty Deed. Consideration $1,000.00. Recorded September 20, 1875. Deed Record #21, Page 115. Conveys: Part of In Lot #24, in the Original Plat of the Town of Manchester, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the South West corner of said in Lot; thence running North on the West line of said lot 100 feet; thence east 14 feet; thence South 100 feet to Main Street; thence West 14 feet to the place of beginning, in Wabash county, Indiana.

December 9, 1885. Nancy J. Ridgley and John B. Ridgley, her husband, to G.W. Lawrence and Aug. C. Mills (each an undivided 1/2). Warranty Deed. Consideration $1500.00. Recorded December 11, 1885. Deed Record #41, Page 572. Conveys: PART of In Lot #24, in the Original Plat of the Town of Manchester, now North Manchester, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the South West corner of said In Lot; thence running north on the West line of said lot 100 feet; thence East 14 feet; thence South 100 feet to the Main Street; thence West 14 feet to the place of beginning, in Wabash County, Indiana.

January 10, 1888. Geo. W. Lawrence and Jennie C. Lawrence, his wife; Aug. C. Mills and Elizabeth H. Mills, his wife, to The Lawrence National Bank, of North Manchester. Warranty Deed. Consideration $8,000.00. Recorded February 11, 1888. Deed Record #45, Page 435. Conveys: The East part of Lot #23, in the Original Plat of the Town of Manchester, now North Manchester, described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of said lot #23, thence North to the East corner of said Lot; thence West 8 1/2 feet; thence South to the South line of said lot; thence East 7 1/2 feet to the place of beginning, in Wabash County, Indiana. Also, a Part of In Lot #24, in the Original Plat of Town of Manchester, now North Manchester, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of said in Lot; thence North on the West line of said lot 100 feet; thence East 14 feet; thence South 100 feet to the Main Street; thence West 14 feet to the place of beginning, in Wabash County, Indiana.

September 3, 1906. Town clerk Albert G. Ebbinghouse certified that "the alley running East and West in John Shellenberger's Subdivision of Lot Number Twenty-four (24) in the Original Plat of the said Town, was in all respects vacated and the public barred from its use and rights therein. Proceeding was heard and determined by the Board of Trustees of the Town of North Manchester. George Burdge et al were petitioners; Sarah Sickafoose, Rufus A. Schoolcraft, Margaret Jane Schoolcraft, his wife, Jesse J. Tyler and Lydia E. Tyler, his wife, were defendants.

June 20, 1930. Lawrence National Bank of North Manchester to Indiana Lawrence Bank & Trust Co. Warranty Deed. Consideration $1.00. Recorded June 21, 1930. Deed Record #130, Page 373. Conveys: The following REAL ESTATE, in Wabash County, in the State of Indiana, to-wit: Part of Inlot No. 23 of the original plat and lot No. 4 of Shallenbargers Sub-division of inlot No. 24 of the original plat, all in the town of North Manchester, Indiana, and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the south line of said inlot 23; said south line being the North building line of Main Street, said point of beginning is located eighty eight and sixteen hundredths (88.16) feet west of where the West building line of Walnut Street intersects the North Building line of Main Street. Said intersecting point being the South East corner, at sidewalk level, of the brick building which  is now located on Lot No. 1 of Shallenbargers Sub-division of lot #24, of the original plat of said town, said point of beginning being also the center of a brick wall between the old Lawrence National Bank building and the store building now owned by Ben Oppenheim. Thence North with the center line of said brick wall, one hundred thirty one feet four and one-half inches (131-4 1/2"); Thence East ten feet four inches (10'-4") to the East line of a brick wall, Thence South along the east line of said brick wall, thirty one feet one and one-half inches (31-1 1/2") to the South line of a ten foot alley and the North line of the brick building located on the property herein described. Thence East along the North line of said brick building and the south line of said Alley, thirteen feet and five inches (13'-5") to the east line of the brick building above mentioned. Said last named point being located sixty-four feet seven inches (64'-7") west of the West building line of Walnut Street; Thence South along the East line of the East wall of said brick building, one hundred feet three inches (100' 3") to the North building line of Main Street, said last named point being located Sixty five feet five and one-half inches (65'-5 1/2") West of the west building line of Walnut Street; Thence West along the north building line of Main Street, twenty-two feet eight and one-half inches (22'-8 1/2") to the place of beginning.

December 24, 1930. Indiana Lawrence Bank and Trust Co., by Calvin Ulrey, President, and A.I. Urschel, Cashier, to Clarence A. Helvey and Hazel Breading Helvey, husband and wife. Warranty Deed. Consideration $6,000.00. Recorded January 9, 1931. Deed Record #131, Page 87. Conveys: Part of Inlot No. 23 of the original plat and lot No. 4 of Shallenbargers Sub-division of inlot No. 24 of the original plat, all in the town of North Manchester, Indiana, and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the south line of said inlot 23; said south line being the North building line of Main Street, said point of beginning is located eighty eight and sixteen hundredths (88.16) feet west of where the West building line of Walnut Street intersects the North Building line of Main Street. April 4, 1963. Hazel B. Helvey died. As surviving tenant, title to said real estate vested in said Clarence A. Helvey.

March 16, 1964. Affidavit of Joe Urschel: That this affiant was well acquainted with Clarence A. Helvey and Hazel Breeding Helvey, at the time they acquired title to the above described real estate; that the said Clarence A. Helvey and Hazel Breeding Helvey, took possession of said real estate immediately upon its acquisition and occupied the same as a motion picture and theater building; that from and after said occupancy they remained in actual visible, open, hostile, continuous, notorious, peaceable, exclusive and adverse possession of said real estate and the said Clarence A. Helvey, does so to the date of this affidavit, under claim of right by virtue of the deed of conveyance by which title to said real estate was acquired, exercising every act of dominion and proprietorship....
