A. F. Rice's Art Studio

When you want the best photographs that can be procured in this part of the state, and at the lowest possible prices, you should visit the art studio of A.F. Rice, located at the corner of Walnut and Second streets, where he occupies his own premises, a one story brick structure built especially for his business. Mr. Rice has been identified with photography in North Manchester for nine years and has gained a reputation as an artist that is quite enviable. He makes photographs of all kinds, does enlarging, pastel and crayon work and picture framing of every description. He has a new process for finishing photographs that has become very popular with the public. It is known as the "platino" or dead finish, and the work is far more desirable than the gloss finish so long in vogue, although pictures will be finished in any style to suit patrons. Mr. Rice has long been engaged in the business of photography and his reputation as an artist is second to none in Northern Indiana. His work shows for itself and will bear the most critical examination. Give him a call when you want anything in his line. He can please you not only in quality of work but in prices as well.

Those old Daguerreotypes of Grandfather and Grandmother and Aunt Mary and the quaint pictures of father and mother taken before the war--money could not buy them from you.
Are you forgetful of the fact that future generations will cherish just such pictures of you?
Clever photographers, fast plates and lenses have made "having your picture taken" a rather pleasant experience these days.
